Sunshine Coast Council
The Sunshine Coast Council is looking to identify opportunities to enable our key industry sectors; aviation, cleantech, professional services and health services to gain access to the international market and potential new investment.
The Sunshine Coast Council provides a range of services to enable business investment in the region. It provides access to trade and investment delegations and opportunities to access international connections through Council's Sister City relationships and the work of its International Relations Panel.
The Sunshine Coast Council also provides potential financial assistance through the Sunshine Coast Investment Incentive Scheme. The Incentive Scheme has been established by Council to secure targeted and suitable investment in the regional economy to create a platform for sustained economic growth and employment generation in the region.
Incentives available to eligible applicants may involve cash grants, deferral of rates and/or deferral of infrastructure charges to help offset various relocation/establishment costs.
Delivering critical infrastructure and services is also at the forefront of ensuring the Sunshine Coast is the ideal location for business investment. Over the next ten years, catalytic projects that will transform the Sunshine Coast economy include:
- $2.03 billion development of the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, comprising public and private hospitals and an international standard research centre
- development of a new capital city at Maroochydore - providing a vibrant civic, commercial, cultural heart of the Sunshine Coast
- implementation of the Sunshine Coast Airport Masterplan to provide an international gateway for the region
- commitment by Sunshine Coast Council to a $1.8 billion capital program to deliver dynamic, vibrant communities that encourage investment growth.
